I found Dr. Epperly after about four years of hot flashes, disturbed sleep on most nights and a short amount of time dealing with the emotional stuff. The major disruption was the hot flashes, they were often and strong. I tried different options and read about what the best thing was to do, which is to replace with bioidentical hormones. I couldn’t find anyone who did that. It was a very frustrating time trying to find help. For the last couple years I have been searching for relief as things were not improving at all. I was thrilled to hear about Dr. Epperly. In August 2005 I had the hormone pellets put in and in a short amount of time they began relieving my symptoms. The process was not difficult, and they will last 4-6 months. I went 6 months before needing them again! I am SO thrilled to be without hot flashes. I am normally on the warm side, so going through this was not something I was looking forward to. I am so thankful to have received this help. Thank you big time Dr. Epperly!
Dr. Epperley and his staff are great. Finally being listened to and having someone promote health and longevity instead of treating symptoms is a breath of fresh air. He has taken a much more detailed and customized approach to my thyroid than even my super specialized endocrinologist ever did. I credit him with getting me through menopause with minimal suffering. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough.
The first time I was approached by Dr. Epperly concerning pellet therapy, I was skeptical. The hot flashes, irritability and physical changes made me uncomfortable to say the least. Dr. Epperly explained the therapy and proceeded to explain the procedure, but when I heard the word “incision” at that point, I decided this wasn’t for me. A year later while Dr. Epperly was conducting my annual physical, he approached me again regarding pellet therapy. By this time, I was really suffering with all the symptoms that are a part of menopause. I was beside myself. I decided to be open-minded and was given information to review. Four months later, I made my first appointment and began the therapy. I am thankful I did! It has changed my life. Today, I feel great! The quality of my life has substantially improved and I haven’t felt this good in 10 years. I’m so thankful that Dr. Epperly approached me the second time. Looking back, I wish I hadn’t wasted 16 months.

Dr. William, After being the recipient of your hormone pellet therapy for nearly 10 months, I am delighted to tell you and your staff of the fantastic benefits of hormone replacement. I’m a 52-year-old male who deals with the normal pressures and stress that we have all grown accustomed to. My concentration, energy levels and sexual vigor had slipped to an all-time low. I thought this was simply the result of the maturing process and every-day stress. Never once did I realize my testosterone count had slipped so low. I should also mention that late in the year 2002, I was involved in an industrial accident resulting in a crushed lower-right leg that literally splintered my lower leg bones. For the past year I have been under the care of Dr. Epperly's Physician's Assistant Sherin George. I have hypothyroidism and knew that my old medication was not quite doing the job anymore. Sherin's integrative approach to health has helped me tremendously. After switching to Naturthroid under her care I am feeling so much better. I still have a little room to improve and have had very careful and thorough follow ups with Sherin. She does not want to stop following up with me until she knows that I am feeling my best and my thyroid and body is functioning at the the best level possible. She is passionate about her work and genuinely cares about the patient's well being and health.
After suffering from major hot flashes for four or five years, I tried about every product for hot flashes that existed over the counter. Plus a variety of natural products from GNC and other health food stores. Which amounted to 50-60 dollars per month and I got very little relief, if any. Then on one visit to Dr. Epperly, he recommended the pellet procedure. It was very easy, only a pin-prick of pain. In about one-and-a-half weeks, I got relief which lasted ten or eleven months. It was well worth it and I had no side effects at all.
I used to have an overactive thyroid along with Grave's Disease. At the time there wasn't a lot of information on the internet about Grave's Disease and Hyperthyroidism. They are wonderful here. I went here because I have hypothyroidism. I went from being tired all day long to having energy all day! I am so thankful for feeling so much better thanks to the doctors here. All the staff is great too.

Hot flashes - gone Night sweats - gone Insomnia - almost gone Moodiness - almost gone Vaginal dryness- gone The pleasant surprise was a weight gain of only four pounds and hopefully that is it. I’ve been on almost all prescription treatments that have been available over the past 15 years. Never have I felt as balanced as I do now that I’ve begun using the hormone pellets. Not only do I not have the emotional ups and downs, physically there is balance in that I have no hot flashes, sleeping problems, bloating, etc. I'm so grateful to find something so natural and simple that works so well with my body. My usually sensitive system accepts this treatment well without any adverse side effects. What a blessing!
I recommend the pellet therapy. I felt a difference in 10 days. More relaxed, more energy to do things, not as easily irritated, more interested in sex, blood pressure went down, not as many cravings and lost some weight.
I have been going to this practice for over a year. After doing some research online, I found them as a recommendation for the thyroid doctor. I currently see Roanne and she is amazing. She looks at my lab results but also considers my symptoms and preferences/concerns as a patient. I have been very happy with the service medically. Sometimes I have a hard time getting a hold of the front desk to make appointments and they run late for evening appointments. However to me its worth the individualized attention and evening appointment option. They have recently gone digital, so hopefully that will help some of the office aspects. If you are looking for someone who truly wants you to feel better, I recommend you give them a call.
I am happy that I chose to have the hormone pellet therapy. One of the most attractive features is that the hormones are derived from natural sources. I feel over-all good and seem to have a more evened-out mood. I haven’t noticed any change in sleep pattern or libido but am assuming that may be because of my age - 75. I made the choice to get the pellets because of my osteoporosis and that I have great trust in Dr. Epperly and his recommendations.
I am 63 and have taken hormone replacement for 15 years. In fall of 2003 it was suggested to wean off the estrogen - and in the final stages of the weaning in March 2004, the hot flashes returned and dryness. Dr. Epperly suggested a blood test to see if a chip replacement would be a good alternative. The chip was put in in June and the results thus far have been very good. No hot flashes, moisture in my body. I would highly recommend considering it.
